Pack 618 Uniform Standards

First of all, no scouting program has a requirement that a scout wear the Class A.  That said, our pack utilizes both Class A and Class B uniforms. What's the difference?  The Class A uniform is the standard cub scout uniform and should be worn for most events including pack meetings, parades, and other activities where we will be seen by the public. The Class A uniform consists of the standard cub scout shirt (blue for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear - tan for Webelos), the neckerchief and slide, hat, and cub scout belt. We recommend you buy your blue shirt a little big because your scout will wear the blue shirt until fourth grade. Similarly, the tan shirt will take him/her from Cub Scouts to the next level of scouting so you might want to buy it big enough to allow some growth as well. We have included pictures below of all the components of the uniform for each rank.

Our pack has a custom Pack 618 neckerchief. Each scout receives a neckerchief and rank appropriate slide woggle when you sign up your scout. Each May, scouts receive a new slide woggle for his/her new rank but will wear the same neckerchief for their entire Pack 618 career.  The Class B t-shirt with the neckerchief and slide woggle

Our pack also provides each scout and each registered leader a Class B t-shirt when he/she joins. We wear the Class B shirt to summer outings, camp-outs, and any event where the Class A might get damaged. Your scout can also wear the Class B to school if he/she wishes.  Class  B t-shirts for parents and siblings or extras for your scout can be purchased for $12.00.

Pack 618 Uniforms

Lions (Kindergartners) wear the blue Lion t-shirt. A scout hat is good to have to protect from the sun while we're doing outdoor activities, but it is not necessary to purchase the rank-specific hat.  There are many scout hats available at the Scout Shop that can be worn multiple years. Likewise, there are rank specific belt buckles available at the scout shop that are changed every year, but blue web Cub Scout belts with non-rank specific buckles available on Amazon or WalMart.com and are perfectly acceptable. The belt is important because the scout's achievement loops are worn on the belt.  Our pack provides a neckerchief that will carry scouts all the way through their Cub Scout careers. We also provide a rank specific slide each year.

Webelos (3rd and 4th graders) transition from the blue uniform shirt to the khaki/ tan shirt. Typically scouts outgrow their blue shirt around 4th grade, so the transition to the tan shirt is well-timed.  Buy the shirt a little large as you did the blue shirt because the khaki shirt will carry them into the Scouts BSA program.  Hats are recommended because Webelos spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun. there are many scout hats available at the Scout Shop that can be worn multiple years. You will also want to transition to the green web Scouts BSA belt when you transition to the tan shirt. Scouts who join in 4th grade will want to start with the tan/khaki shirt and skip the blue shirt all together.   Our pack provides a neckerchief that will carry scouts all the way through their Cub Scout careers. We also provide a rank specific slide each year.
